Will Max Cook be in the lineup? Who will be in goal? What kind of crowd will there be? We will know very soon.

I'm hoping that they get a good sized crowd. They've been promoting this game all week long with ads in the paper and spots on the radio.

I'm not sure if we get the same Team USA that's been getting run over by the other teams the last few weeks. Looks like those games were pretty rough.
Lots of delay of games, misconducts, and fighting penalties.

The U-18 played in the USHL Classic, but the rest of the Team USA games vs. USHL teams so far have been played by the U-17 team. The Ice face the younger Team
USA Saturday night, while the older Team USA is playing Sioux City.

Speaking of playing, according to the schedule, the Jr Ice have a game at 4:00 pm. Anyone want a double-header with a "block party" in between? As
Badger Bob would say "It's a great day for hockey!"

Seemed to me like the Team USA goalie was having some real trouble controlling rebounds. I couldn't see what he was doing the second period, but the other
two, he was giving up rebounds a few feet out front. It's a really bad spot if you want to keep the puck out of your own net.
I don't think better goaltending would have saved the game for Team USA though. Seemed like the Ice were controlling their offensive zone pretty good the whole game. Anyone find where the chicken fingers and fries went to? I will be wandering around lost for food (and Molson!) for a few more games, I know that. |

A 16 year old goaltender has time for improvement. He has a chance to be really good.
I heard from another fan that Cab Morris was out with the Flu last weekend. The home opener had the best announced crowd since 2005. Anybody miss the Chill girls? The funniest thing of the night was looking at the program and seeing an ad for the Indians Opening night of April 16, 2009. I think we are long past that date! They must not have had a proof-reading intern! It was difficult finding the roster. the only place we found selling them was the Ice store. |

Something else I didn't know. Brandon Gwidt was the emergency backup goaltender for Team USA Saturday night. He played for the Jr. Ice earlier that
evening. Brent was such an integral part of the championship team, it was really neat to have a family member present at the banner ceremony.
Now then, why does pointstreak list 22 players for that game when the most you can have is 20? All 22 were introduced at the opening ceremony, but I thought that was just because it was opening night. Now, I find out other USHL teams are allowed to dress 22 against team USA. Why, I don't know.

Anyone know how team USA will play into the playoffs/point standings since it seems both squads will be playing but neither has a full ushl schedule?

The Under-18's play the other USHL teams a home and home game for a total of 26. The Under-17's play the remaining 34. they are considered one team in
the points and stats. I believe I read it would be the Under-17's in the playoffs.
