The Saint John Seadogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League used the first overall pick in the CHL Import Draft to select Stanislav Galiev today. That
doesn't mean he will choose to play there, and the Ice are expecting him to be here this fall.

Each team is only allowed two imports from Europe. Maybe they don't have anyone better in line? The only reason I can see for Galiev to go play in Saint
John is that they pay the players a small amount. Last time I heard it was $75 a week. I'm sure he had a great experience here last season. There is no
reason to think he would be more highly scouted in Saint John than he would be here.

The Sea Dogs announced they are sending a representative to Russia to meet with Galiev, his mother, and his agent. The Galiev team has already said he is
coming back to Indy. St. John must think they have a good chance. We just hope not
